Where Are The Real Men In Our Society? By Adesina Oluwaseun

All over the world,at one time or the other, countries have or are experiencing either political or economic crises. Most times, the crises are as a result of the absence of real men, who are capable of making decisions without the hint of selfish interests in the sphere of governance and administration.

Often time, some men think their ability to impregnate a lady is an automatic ticket for them to be called a "real man," but the reverse is the case. A male's ability to impregnate a lady does not make you a "real man", as even a mad man can impregnate a lady. Being a responsible man is a great component. Men nowadays have lost their honor and value.

The family is an integral factor in the building of the society, the society builds a nation and the nations make up the world, the absence of real men in the family has continually caused more damage to the family, and destroyed the society at large. The role of men in the building of a strong and virile family cannot be over flogged. According to Marque Kein, a British Researcher, she argued that 75 % of Rapist are mostly from fatherless homes, 70% of those who involve in drugs are mostly from fatherless homes, 62 % of those who commit suicide are mostly from fatherless homes , 57.8 % of those who drop out from school are mostly from fatherless homes, 55 % of those who are involved in terrorism , armed robbery , kidnapping and other social vices are from fatherless homes, 65 % of those who fail in life are from fatherless home . This statistics buttress my earlier point that the role of a real man in a family is very essential; if a man is able to build his family right, he is certainly contributing towards the wellness of the society.

A Real man could simply be said to be an agile, articulate, responsible, caring man who understands that he is a born leader but never regards his wife or other members of his family as a slaves and understands and appreciates the role of the woman in the house as a backbone in the building of the home. A real man is also ready and capable of taking responsibilities and is also ready to accept blames if he is in the wrong. A real man instills and upholds values in his home and ensures that he doesn't live a double life apart from the one he preaches to them.

If Real Men full of integrity, who have in one way or the other built up their families rightly are in position of governance and administration today, our dear country will not be in this state of mess, being a real man is not a function of age, as one can be 50years old and still think and act like a 10years old boy. We have boys in the realm of governance in Nigeria, who have no leadership values to offer, these are the set of people ruling us. Most barely have strong homes, and how will they lead our country aright when they cannot even lead a family of 6 (six ) members rightly. Their families are not worth emulating, they embezzle the billions to appease their family and unborn generations, when you see their family in the public you think all is well but at their different homes it's a place of war because of their failure to build a virile and purposeful family.

I humbly employ Real Men, who understand value and respect for people to come and take up governance and administration responsibilities in our dear country from the boys who call themselves fathers, but don't fear God and respect humanity. If all men take the responsibility of building a good family, we will have a vice-free nation as the aggregate of what we learnt or imbibed in the family is what we exhibit in the Society , " Show me your Character, I will Guess who your Parents are and know how well you were brought up " .

Let's Stop point accusing finger at the government each time and build up our families right.

God Bless Nigeria.

  1. It has always been said that the family is a component unit of the society, and a real man is known from the kind of family he has.
Men nowadays relegates their responsibilities to the woman, thus selling their birthright.
It is just a form of shying away from what they ought to do, or what is expected of them. I fully agree with this write-up.
