Former Nollywood actor turned politician Hon Rotimi Makinde has bragged severally about being the first actor to veer into politics. The honorable this afternoon took to his Facebook page to encourage other artists who’ve come on board.
“My people, when I was stepping into politics and eventually won the seat as a Member of the Federal House of Reps after several opposing forces ,I was relatively unknown, little attention was given, many even see me as unlettered and unworthy and surprisingly it included some of my professional pally BUT today, as the first artist to be so privileged in the whole of Africa I believed I have proved the critics wrong with my performance on Bills and Motions(Readers may google "bills and motions by Rotimi Makinde)...Today I feel proud that my colleagues are now encouraged and coming on board and I have absolute confidence that things can only get better with this development, however I humbly wish to appeal for caution and pray for their sincere desire to serve. Politic is murky and it goes beyond being popular, it requires sacrifice, energy and prayers .i wish them luck,” he wrote.

ReplyDeleteThat is nice encouraging them, but less we forget that plitics is not acting, so they shoild thread with caution, be ready to serve and not only bank on their popularity alone. This is important for them to note and not just join the bandwagon.
