South African Football Captain And Goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa Shot Dead At Girlfriend’s Home

South Africa football captain and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa has been shot dead in his girlfriend’s home in Johannesburg hours after leading his club in their 4-1 win against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday Oct 25. The 27 year old was shot in the chest at his girlfriend's house in Vosloorus when armed men broke into the house where he was staying on Sunday Oct 26.

 Both the police and his club 'The Orlando Pirates confirmed his death in a series of tweets.

'The Orlando Pirates family has learned with sadness of the untimely death of our number 1 keeper & captain Senzo Meyiwa. This is a sad loss to Senzo's family especially his children, to Orlando Pirates & the nation', said Chairman Dr Irvin Khoza.

Meyiwa is married to Mandisa Mkhize and blessed with children. He was shot dead at the home of his on–off pop star girlfriend Kelly Khumalo who also has a daughter for him.
