Several benefits become accessible after you have pulled down all satanic altars, repaired the altar of the Lord and built a new altar unto God. First, you will be able to have your prayers answered instantly, according to Psalm 50:14-15. Also, your offering will be accepted as was the case with Abel in Genesis 4:3-5. One reason many prayers go unanswered is because for too long, the altars on which such prayers are offered are in disrepair. God is not just interested in your request but in the state of your heart and life. Another benefit is that your potentials will be activated. When the fire fell on Mount Carmel, it took up the offering to Heaven and consumed the firewood, turning the wood into fire. Every wood has the potential of becoming fire, which is a blessing in cooking and warming people’s homes. Within you, there is the potential of being a blessing to your generation and the world. God did not just create you to eat, drink and dress up; He created you for a definite purpose. The actualisation of your potentials will be determined by the state of your altar. How long will you neglect God’s altar? How long will you leave it in disarray?

A new altar will equally bring an end to hardship. When the fire fell on Mount Carmel, not only did the fire consume the firewood, it also consumed the rocks. A rock is a symbol of hardship. In other words, when obedience is adequately mobilised in the atmosphere of purity, it becomes a powerful weapon that breaks in pieces the toughest of rocks. This also tells us that the things men consider to be weak can actually be stronger than what they consider strong. Are you allowing this seemingly weak tool to break down the rock of hardship in your life? The Lord will terminate every hardship you may be going through presently in Jesus’ Name. In addition, the fire licked the water. If you repair the altar of the Lord and build a new altar, you will never be in sorrow again as His fire will dry up your tears. Hence, Psalm 30:5 says,
“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

When you repair the broken altar and build another one, you are only helping yourself. Arise today and take out the things that have worked against God’s altar and begin to repair it now. Take out lies, lack of seriousness, excuses of lack of time, prayerlessness, etc. Ask God to rekindle you today.

Should Keshi still Coach the Super Eagles?

Today Friday 4th July 2014, Stephen Keshi, the head coach of Super Eagles revealed that he is ready to continue coaching the national football team if his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation is extended.
If you recall, after Nigeria lost to France at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, news went viral that he resigned. But he later refuted the reports saying he only told the players that his contract had expired and he may not coach them anymore.In Abuja, he told reporters that he would like to finish what he started if given the opportunity.

He said;

“Although, I have not spoken with the NFF yet, I am out of contract now and I need to move ahead. I have spent two and a half years in Nigeria and I love Nigeria; it is my country and the national team is in my blood.
If I meet with the NFF and we agree to the conditions in a new contract, there is no problem.

There are many countries like South Africa that are seeking my service, but I will give priority to Nigeria if we agree because I will love to finish what I started if everything goes on well.
But if not, I will like to move my train to somewhere else because it is always a good experience when you go out there and try something else.”

Message:

Ministry is in stages. You start from being an onlooker – a spectator who is eager to observe and learn, then you move on to being sent, after which you get to the level of going on your own. I recall the first time I laid hands on people in church on returning from a Kenneth Hagin camp meeting in Tulsa, USA in 1979. I saw Kenneth Hagin laying hands on people and they fell under the anointing and received miracles. On my way back to Nigeria, I talked it over with God in the plane. The following Sunday, I asked people to queue up, I laid hands on them, and they fell under the anointing – a practice I never believed could happen.

In the service of God, there is always a higher level you can move on to. For instance, Acts 5:15-16 says Peter moved up to the level where even his shadow was healing the sick. This season, the Lord will take you higher until you get to the very top! Whatever level you have achieved in ministry or in business, there is still a higher level you can attain. There is always space at the top for high climbers.

As you desire to move from one level to another, there are new requirements you must meet. In God’s school, no one moves higher without satisfying some greater qualification requirement. As far as God is concerned, there is nothing like automatic promotion. You must earn your promotion because you cannot bribe or manipulate Him – not even with worship! As good as David and Jesus were in worshipping God, they still had to move from grade to grade in God’s school. In conventional schools, if you do exceptionally well in your performance, you can get a double promotion. But in God’s school, no detail is ignored. The test you could not pass must be repeated irrespective of where you run to. For instance, if you fail a test in submission to authorities and decide to leave to another church to start afresh, you will continue from where you stopped. Until you pass that test, there is no promotion to the next stage. It is therefore wisdom to humbly take your lessons in a gospel church and prayerfully pass the tests so that you can move to the next level. If Jesus was given no waivers, don’t expect any if you want to get to the top.

Key Point:
There is no cutting corners in God’s service.

Message:

In the above scripture, David did not just say he waited, but that he waited patiently. The implication of this is that the Christian race is not a sprint but a marathon. The journey to Heaven is not something you do in just a day, but rather what may take a whole lifetime. Due to the emphasis placed on the gospel of the return of Jesus Christ, some people believed He would come the very next day or week after they received Him into their hearts. When my friends and I were newly converted, we thought so too. In fact, I had to encourage one of my friends to continue with his studies because he felt since Jesus was coming at any moment, it was pointless going to school. Similarly, in those days, we were taught that there were three steps in Christianity – salvation, sanctification and Holy Ghost baptism. We felt then that once you had experienced those three, you have arrived. But probably because of my training in applied mathematics, I began to do my personal research to verify if there were only three steps; and I discovered seven.

According to Ezekiel 36:24-27, the first thing God said He would do even before salvation is to gather His own together. Ezekiel 36:24 says:

“For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.”

This is what Jesus meant when He said in John 6:44:

“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Before you are saved, you are first drawn. No one can be saved except he or she has been drawn by the Father. This tells us that salvation is not at your own instance but at God’s instance. Also, God has already taken steps ahead of you before you respond. He is the One initiating it and not you. This is why when people say they have found Jesus, they are not speaking the truth. He was never lost. Rather, He is the One who was searching for them until He found them. God uses everything at His disposal to draw men to Himself. He used the burning bush to draw Moses. He used a blinding light to draw Saul. He used the miracle of a net-breaking catch of fish to draw Peter. He is also drawing you today even through this medium. Have you accepted Him?

Key Point:
The Father not only draws you to salvation but continues to pull you closer. How close are you to God?

Message:

If you desire to combine long life with pleasurable days, you must keep your tongue from evil, do good, and depart from evil. You must seek peace and pursue it. This means that wherever there is a conflict, you must do everything in your power to install peace. You must vigorously follow after peace. Proverbs 16:7 says,
“When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
From this scripture, we see that there is a link between our relationship with God and the type, duration and extent of our peace. Isaiah 9:6 calls Jesus the Prince of Peace. In other words, Jesus is the manufacturer and true custodian of peace. There is no way you can enjoy lasting peace without first pleasing Him. What kind of peace are you enjoying? The peace that you have is a reflection of your relationship with the Prince of Peace. If you please Him, He can settle the conflicts that exist between you and your enemies. If you want to settle the conflict between you and your enemies or even between you and your loved ones, yet you keep the Prince of Peace at a distance, then you are not yet ready for settlement.

From this scripture, we see that total obedience to God is one major way to please God and secure peace. Also from this scripture, peace is likened to a river. This implies that peace flows. It is something that other people can draw from. Unfortunately, the peace that some people have is not enough for them, to talk less of extending it to others. God wants to give you peace like a river so that many troubled souls can contact you and find peace. Do you have peace? Can your peace calm the stormy situations of others? Does your peace flow to others? How is your relationship with God? Whatever the situation, it can be better. Improve in your obedience to God and see things change in your favour.

Key Point:
Pleasing God and obeying His commandments are the currency for purchasing God’s peace.
