Confirming the incident, Mr Sunday Ajayi, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, said seven persons were injured, stressing that they were successfully rescued and taken to a hospital.
Ajayi affirmed;
The accident involved a commuter bus, a Toyota Camry car, a jeep and a truck conveying drinks.“I can confirm the unfortunate accident to you, it involved five vehicles including a trailer, but no life was lost and the seven people injured had been moved to nearby hospital,” he said.
According to an eye witness identified as Jude, the accident was as a result of a commercial bus driver who was driving against traffic towards Owerri road from Onitsha.
“This bus from Onitsha was driving against traffic and it collided with the jeep before all these other ones ran into them.
“The truck that hit the pavement was also trying to dodge them.“It is a serious accident the victims have been rushed to hospitals by the Road Safety and some policemen,” he said.
